CREW ISSUE // SURVEY TEAM CAP
Between the stations ran hundreds of kilometres of buried cable, and someone had to walk it. The survey teams followed the routes on foot through forest, marsh and dead suburbs, checking junction boxes and marking every fault they found. They wore low, soft caps that faded in the rain and frayed at the brim, with the signal mark on the front so any station would open its gate to them.
THE SIGNAL MARK
A dead city under a full moon, cut by a single peak. In the archive it is the insignia of the relay crews, the people who kept the stations running after the cities went dark. It was painted on doors, stamped on equipment and stitched onto every uniform. Wherever the mark appears, something nearby is still transmitting.
